PhotoRealistic vs Painted Photo Art
PhotoRealistic Style
Your image is handled expertly by our artists. They correct and enhance the color balance, optimize the image for the sharpness, contrast levels, noise removal accordingly. All images are then corrected by our artist to remove minor imperfections such as red eyes if any. Choose the photo realistic option when you want to maintain originality in an image or in cases when the photo has a group of people and the faces of the subjects in the images will be small. You should
also choose this option when fine detail in a scenic landscape image is to be maintained.
Painted Photo Art Style
We optimize the image to remove imperfections, correct contrast, color and brightness and then artists digitally apply round camelhair brush strokes to give the image an elegant painted art effect. This style should be chosen when reproducing images where faces of the subjects are prominent. Your canvas art will truly have the look of the traditional oil painting with this effect.

Two finishing options
Gallery Wrap – The canvas is stretched around a ¾” wooden stretcher frame finished to perfection. Suits any décor and easy to hang.
Custom Frame – Our standard frames are available in two colors – Black and Mahogany. They add a contemporary look to your canvas art.

B&W and Sepia image Color Options
Select this option if you would like your color photo converted to black and white or sepia. Such images look best on contemporary dark colored walls such as red, green etc.

What do I need to know about choosing my pictures?

Best file format, resolution and image size
Short answer: 300 dpi jpegs are usually optimal for our use and will work in most cases.
Long answer: A digital camera image of resolution 3 Megapixel or up should work fine. If you're not sure about all the technicalities, don’t worry and just upload the image you have and leave it to us to analyze the image. We'll always call you if there is an issue.

Working with traditional prints
You can scan your traditional print at 300 DPI , save it at maximum quality and upload it with your order. If all this seems overwhelming, just mail the picture to us and we can scan it for you. Just mail the picture to our mailing address Given here
Note: Scanning Tip - If you wish to convert your traditional print to create an uploadable digital file, you can use a flat bed scanner to scan your image at 300 dpi resolution. Save the file in JPEG format with the highest quality setting / lowest compression.
If you have an old photo and don't have a scanner, you can have your photo scanned into a 300 dpi JPEG digital file on a CD at selected Kinko's stores, which you can then upload to us from your PC.
We strongly recommend NEVER sending us a irreplaceable original photographs. Packages can and do get lost in transit and we would hate for you to lose a one of a kind image. If you have a treasured photo and no negative or copy we suggest that you have a high quality duplicate made before sending it to us. Duplication services are available at your local Walgreens or Wal-Mart photo center.

Image resizing and cropping.
|
We will artistically crop your image so it works with the proportions of the canvas size you’ve selected. Sometimes the image you send us just won’t work in the finished size you selected. If that’s the case we’ll call you with an alternative solution. You can always provide any specific instructions or preferences regarding the intended cropping in the comments section of the order form. If you are photoshop inclined , look below for instructions to properly size your file.

Gallery Wrap
Standard stretcher bars have a depth of ¾ inches. Your file therefore, needs to be 1 ½ inches larger in both dimensions than the size of the face of the canvas. Also ensure the DPI setting is 150 DPI when resizing and cropping. Using a 20 x 24 canvas as an example: The face of the canvas is 20 x 24, the image needs to be 21 ½ x 25 ½.

Make your file for framed canvases exact size. So a 20”x24” sized canvas should be sized to 20x24 inches aspect ratio.

Professional Photography and copyrighted images
If a professional photographer took you your photograph; you may need to obtain a release. Both on our online order form and on our prepaid mailer, you'll be asked to agree to the following statement: "I certify that I own the copyright for this photo(s) or, I am authorized by the owner to make and use a photo-to-canvas reproduction."
